Jo Anne Robinson

While studying art and ceramics at Utah State University I came across Edward Weston photography and fell in love.

Much of my education shifted tophotography after that and I ended up working as a darkroom room technician while raising my son on my own.

He and I would continue my family’s tradition of camping whenever we could and of course I would photograph all the wonders we came across. When he started to get a little older I started attending painting classes again in various venues around the Los Angeles area.  Impressionism always having been another love of mine.

Working aChristmas Show at the Burbank Art Foundation, I was instantly inspired by sometiles created by another artist with a fluid painting technique. Always lookingfor a way to loosen up my style, I began to explore that medium and fell inlove again. I don’t know if I’ve ever had quite so much fun with my art.

When dating my currenthusband, we would drive up the Rim of the World Highway and dream of having ahome in the mountains. After a few more years we realized we could make thathappen, and are now so happy to be a part of this community.
