As a native Southern Californian, I recall spending summers as a child teaching neighborhood friends how to draw and paint under our old maple tree.

I had faithfully watched a show on television, where the artist taught drawing by using different shapes to create drawings that were creative and unique, so to me it was magical.

Armed with the knowledge of ‘everything art’, I knew that it would become a huge part of my life.

Much later I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art from California State University Fullerton. I worked at several advertising agencies in Orange County and Riverside including the University of California Riverside as a graphic designer and illustrator. My illustrations have been published in magazines, posters, and brochures.

After that, I obtained a California Community CollegeTeaching Credential in Art Design and Photography and Master of Arts inTeaching from Grand Canyon University as well as a California Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I then taught in the Jurupa Unified School District.

So, my career has been two-fold and I feel very fortunate to create, teach, and share my love of art with others. My work mainly consists of landscape, flora, and portraiture. Recently, in addition to oils, my focus is textile art. I love to experiment with different mediums and also exhibit and occasionally teach mixed media textile art at quilt guilds in the Inland Empire. I am a member of the Southern California Plein Air Painters Association, Redlands Art Association, and Mountain Arts Network and Gallery in Lake Arrowhead, California, where my artwork is currently being shown.

The mountains afford endless daily inspiration for creative expression. I am constantly training my eyes to not only look, but to SEE.  Art has an aesthetic value and ‘everything art’ has certainly enriched my life.
