Pat grew up near Chicago and took art lessons at the Art Institute of Chicago for many years. She received a BA in Government from Miami of Ohio, but always still missed art. After her sons were born, she went back to school and earned an art degree from the University of New Mexico and taught high school art in New Mexico.
Then she moved to Naples, Italy for four years and was the Marketing Director for the Navy Exchange System. She got interested once again in drawing and painting during her years in Italy.
For twenty years Pat was a fund raiser for hospitals such as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, St. Bernadine and the Director of Marketing and Community Development at Mountains Community Hospital.
Pat moved to Lake Arrowhead in 2008 with her husband, Alan Smith, and quickly became involved in the wonderful art community and was juried into the Mountains Art Gallery.
Pat retired almost two years ago, so she now has time to focus on Mountain Arts Network. Pat became president of MAN in July. Pat said, “We have a great group of devoted artists who are committed to spreading appreciation of the arts to our mountain."
