Lilellen Boroch

Lilellen (Ellen) Boroch is a native Californian whose gift for creating art began developing at a very early age. The love for art began at Sycamore Elementary School in Claremont, California, where she would hurry through her assignments so she could draw pictures in her notebooks. Having limited professional training, her pieces reflect her pure talent and unique perspective. Now working in collage and acrylics, Ellen is drawn primarily to portrait, figure, color and flat perspective that are simple and clean. However, her joyous and playful nature can be seen in her drawings, oils, and watercolor as well. She is always open to experimenting with new mediums as she truly has a passion for art.

Ellen painted for several years in Crestline with “The Loop Group” with the late artist, Thomas Hickson. She studied in Upland at The Art Box with owner/artist Sylvia Megerdichian and a wonderful group of painters for critique, honesty, encouragement, and insight to motivate her and nurture her talent. She has also studied with Gerald Brommer, Christopher Schink and Bob Burridge. Ellen has shown her art at several shows at Mountain Arts Network, Chaffey Community Art Association, Redlands Art Association,Associated Artists of the Inland Valley. Her work was shown at the Blue Jay Gallery and it is currently in the Mountain Arts Gallery in Lake Arrowhead.

Ellen’s subject matter has evolved from flowers and landscapes to the figurative and portraits in which she enjoys capturing everyday life and emotion. She loves to paint from old black and white photos and will often take an ordinary photograph and bring it to life with color and a style all her own. Ellen lives in Lake Arrowhead where she paints daily. Please visit her website at You can contact her at
