THEME: Reproductions of icons stressing the humanity of the figures; Early Irish, Medieval, Spanish, and Polish. MEDIUM: Oils on canvas. BACKGROUND: Born in Los Angeles, California, Roberta had her first one man show sponsored by her art teacher at Brockton Elementary in West Los Angeles when she was 12 years old. Twenty watercolors were displayed. Working side-by-side with her husband Philip Gwinn in oils, silk screening, and creation of backdrops for stage productions for over a quarter century she has acquired a lifelong love of the arts. Moved by the deterioration of various artistically important peices in Europe she has turned her attention to replicating these treasures as they would have appeared in their original state. |
