Mary and a young Mother Theresa

For as long as I can remember I have drawn, sketched, painted and sculpted in an ongoing attempt to understand more about my subjects, more about my beliefs and in turn more about life. I strive to find the connection, the common ground that moves us all, the oneness among the many that can bring us all to a singly common ground. I find that in my recent works I am most compelled by the human spirit and even more specifically the strength of the woman, the spirit which knows not what it is to be bound, the spirit that despite her surroundings despite the world that would have her broken she not only survives but thrives. I believe that these women are within all of us and in painting them, my attempts are not only to capture them on canvas but capture some of them within myself.

I am passionate about the human condition and the responsibility we have to one another. Art tells our story.
