| As a child our family went on a vacation in the mountains. I remember thinking, “this is the most beautiful place”. I professed to my father, “When I grow up I’m going to be an artist and live in the mountains”. Years later, once I became an artist and moved to the mountains, my father an I were standing on the deck of my home and he said, “I guess your dream came true.” reminding me of the time as a child.
One of the things I often say is “Imagine such a thing.” As a artist its a key to revealing all those ideas mulling around in the brain. If one of my pieces can inspire the use of ones imagination then I feel I’ve done my job. Thats what makes being an artist so rewarding. I have been a self-taught and employed artist for over 17 years. Sometimes it takes time for the skill level to merge with an idea. However, the process always reveals itself. My inspiration comes from nature. As a Halloween baby, the holiday holds special meaning and as an adult creating pieces in that theme allows the child within to play. Look around and be inspired. |
