Cindy Pool has had art in her veins since she was a young girl in Chicago, Illinois. After Cindy moved to California, she started taking formal art lessons at the age of 8 and knew this was what she wanted to do for her life. During her junior year of high school, Cindy was given the opportunity to study at the Art Institute in Chicago. There she took her first figure drawing class, and decided to peruse a college degree in art. In her senior year of high school at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, in Rancho Santa Margarita, California; Cindy was awarded Outstanding Senior in Visual Arts.

Cindy chose to attend the College of Santa Fe, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Here she earned a degree in studio art with a minor in art therapy. While in college, she was able to show her artwork in several student art shows on campus. After college, Cindy was unsure of what to do with her passion for creating art. This indecision eventually lead her into the field of education. Cindy attended Concordia University in Irvine, California; where she earned a Master’s degree in education. She started teaching at the Orange County High School of the Arts in 2002. Now, Cindy teaches beginning and advanced art to 6th through 8th graders in the Rialto Unified School District, where she is the Visual and Performing Arts chair person, at her school site. During the summers, Cindy teaches for the Gifted Students Academy at University of California in Irvine.

Cindy lives in Crestline, California with her graphic artist husband, Matt, and their dog, Spencer. New to the mountain community in 2007, both Cindy and Matt are finding the area beautiful and inspiring. Cindy creates unique works of art that center around acrylic painting and evolves from there. She considers herself a mixed media painter, adding found and recycled objects to her art, creating a collage factor. She also creates unique wooden boxes, using similar techniques. Cindy has had her artwork shown at Site Santa Fe, in Santa Fe, New Mexico and at Fox Gallery in Santa Ana, California.
