GARY GLIBBERY, BIO/STATEMENT
Gary Glibbery was born in Surrey, England and moved with his
family to Southern California when he was a child, where he was
raised. He currently lives in Lake Arrowhead with his wife and
daughter. His creative passion began in grade school with scratch
built model boats. Continuing to hone his woodworking skills, he
has earned awards for his Gloucesterman Schooner and Tug boat
models, as well as Best of Show several times.
Gary enjoys working in a variety of artistic disciplines such as
pyrography, wood carving, furniture making, metal sculpting and
building industrial style lighting. Gary finds inspiration for his
pyrography and carvings, from the natural beauty of wildlife and
nature found in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas.
Gary is an avid collector of antique hand tools, which he prides
himself in using to create his unique functional Art pieces. HIs
expertise in using these "old school" traditional methods and tools
gives him the satisfaction of following in the footsteps of craftsmen
of the past, and of keeping alive what soon could be a lost art.
Working with reclaimed lumber that he rescues, Gary enjoys
creating one of kind pieces that highlights the unique characteristics
and quality of reclaimed wood. His goal is to create pieces that
clients can display to enhance their decor or simply enjoy as a piece
