Lou Marek: I have been given a commission to do a series of Polo Oil Paintings for the Prestigious Santa Barbara Polo Club. And I went just recently to take photos in the height of their season.

Wilma Van Mierlo:This july I had an exhibit of my paintings in the canessa gallery, downtown san francisco ( next to the trans american building.) I was able to show 31 pieces, acrylic on paper, acrylic on canvas and watercolors.

I had two opening receptions and two closing down receptions and it was nice to meet a lot of new people and other artists. It was pleasant to get all kinds of good responses and next year they want to have me in for another show! Probably in September. It was a great experience and I am invited to do exhibits in two other galleries! I even got a letter out of Spain (Europe) to join for an artist contest in Seville! So, that is my next step!

John Hummel: Has had a beautiful flower "Michelle's Rose" (black & white) accepted in the 2011 International photo competition. There were 1300 submissions from around the world and 45 selected for a final competition on Saturday Aug 6th. The reception will be in the Artist Haven Gallery located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

John says...

I won two places in the San Bernardino Mountains Land Trust 2012 Calendar contest. The Calendar will be out in October for the coming year.
I also won a second place in the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Art and Wine Festival judging in the photography catagory. That was for body of work presented.
